French luxury goods group LVMH acquires wine producer Le Château du Galoupet

World-renowned luxury goods group Moët Hennessy, the beer, wine, and spirits branch of LVMH, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Le Château du Galoupet, a French winery specialising in Provence rosé.

In an announcement this week, the company announced the addition of the winery to its portfolio, with the transaction expected to be completed later this year.

Dating back to the end of the 17th Century, Le Château du Galoupet is a Cru Classé winery located along the coast in La Lode-les-Maures, enjoying a breathtaking setting against the Salins islands of Porquerolles, Port Cros, and Le Levant.

The estate benefits from a micro-climate which refreshes the vines with temperate and salty winds, spanning exceptional lands with diverse soils.

The 68 hectares of vines are located on a single lot, and produce three categories of wines: rosé (90%), red (5%), and white (5%). All of the Chateau’s wines have won awards from guidebooks or international competitions.

Moët Hennessy aims to enhance the 89 unplanted hectares, respecting the preserved environment and offering a natural foreground.

The luxury goods brand said in a statement: “Moët Hennessy, leader of luxury wines and spirits, is proud to share its expertise in the development of the domaine and to add a Cru Classé de Provence to its portfolio, its first rosé wine.”
